This is nothing new, nothing special and neither something.006938-ie7logo
Just frustration that explode and must be outside my mind
to share a thought with the internet world, with a personal hope that one one day
the sentence “ie sucks big time” will be the most popular sentence on the www.

I just passed like 6 hours of my life trying to make 1 horizontal and one vertical <ul><li><a> menus working with ie.
Everything was already working yesterday (xhtml 1.0 and css 2.1 validated)…
but after installing vmware and winXp with ie6 and ie7…pf.
I designed the graphics knowing what i was dealing with…but no way…you can know everything you want in advance.

Internet Explorer will keep making fun of you until, crying, you’ll decide to stop working with internet stuff.

why internet explorer sucks?
who cares, just switch to firefox
or if you still want to use ie*  at least click here.

That’s it, thanks for reading.

*If you are an internet explorer user, switch to firefox, seriously.

Color blindness colors

Today i was looking for inspiration to start creating a new website about Torino and accessibility (with accessibility i mean something REALLY accessible to visually impaired people such as blind, color blind, people with low vision, etc…).

I looked here and there and made a bunch of google search with every possible keyword i had in mind (in ita and eng) without finding anything really interesting and i started to had the feeling of being the only one interested in this, at the moment.

Then, after at least 1 hour, i’ve found 2 nice websites, actually…1 nice article in a website and 1 nice website.
I wanted to share them here, to help spread the idea to, at least, start thinking about accessibility
not just with w3c validators or design rules, but also caring about the users that will actually navigate into a website.

Here the two links: the article and a gallery of accesible websites

I am collecting data like:
“how many cigarettes i smoke”,”how many times i use the elevator/staits in my building”,”home many time i piss”,”how many times i eat pasta or pizza”,”home many times i shave”,”at what hour i wake up”, etc…for the whole year 2009. every day.

That’s basically all i am doing, for now.

The entire project consists in:

  • storing this info in a database
  • represent them in a nice design package
  • put the project on the web and use it as a portofolio
  • help others to do da same in a more easy way trough an online application

Why?
I don’t really know why, yet.

This is it.

UPDATE 06/2009:
I stopped this project, cause i’ve realized the info i was collecting where too less and not so interesting as i wanted, i did, anyway, collected data for 6 months…and yes, everyday, i was using my pen to make like a hundred small dots on a small piece of paper with a schema printed on it. Always in my pockets. Day and night, at parties, in the bathroom, at work, on vacation, etc… :)
